The Event”
cannot stop the heart
from seeing
dead ends
become
obstacles

so marks
become the pieces
of the heart
beating
the painted puzzle
pulsing

the forest
through
the trees
which clearly
he
can see

  1. ...the painted puzzle
pulsing...i love this pat - speaks of such vibrant life even in the difficulties he had to master. a brave and fascinating man - and yes - he could see - i thought the same and i think he can see with different eyes. beautifully captured

  3. I like how you compared Close's technique to the trees in the forest. Apt conclusion.

  6. It is amazing isn't it? - as if he picked up the scattered shards of tragedy and built a cathedral with them. Your poem beautifully and succinctly captures that.
